Fairplay Short-Term Rental Rules
The Town of Fairplay, Colorado, implemented Ordinance No. 4, Series of 2022, on March 21, 2022. This ordinance outlines the regulations and procedures for obtaining permits for short-term rental units within the town limits. It also imposes a limit on the total number of permits issued, which is set at 6.5% of the existing housing units in Fairplay at the time the ordinance was enacted. Based on this calculation, a total of 20 permits were authorized.
February 2025 UPDATE: As of February there have been 9 licenses issued, with 11 licenses still remaining and available. There is no waiting list and applications must be made by the property owner who can provide proof of ownership.
